MASOVIA

Warsaw and wild Kampinos.

A region where a great metropolis meets the forest. Kampinos, Zegrze Lagoon, rural Masovia, and Warsaw at a slow pace.

The Capital and the Forest

Masovia is associated with Warsaw — rightly so, as the capital dominates the region. But Masovia is also Kampinos Forest, one of the few places in Europe where wild nature borders the center of a great city.

By bike from Warsaw to Kampinos, you can arrive in an hour. When pines and dunes replace skyscrapers, it is easy to forget that you are in one of the largest metropolises in Europe.

Rural Masovia

Rural Masovia is a completely different world — flat fields, wooden churches, noble manors, and villages where time flows slower than in the capital.

It is worth turning off the Warsaw–Kampinos route and heading toward Płońsk, Ciechanów, or Pułtusk. There you can find true Masovia, with its peace and tradition.
