REGIONS OF POLAND
16 voivodeships,
thousands of places.
Every voivodeship is a different landscape, different history, different flavors. Discover Poland region by region — from the Baltic to the Bieszczady, from the Sudetes to Podlasie.
Poland Region by Region
Poland is divided into 16 voivodeships, but its true diversity lies in the historical and cultural regions that often do not coincide with the current administrative division. Pomerania, Kashubia, Warmia, Masuria, Podlasie, Masovia, Lesser Poland, Silesia, Greater Poland, Lower Silesia — each of these regions has its own identity, traditions, and landscape.
For a traveler, this means that one voivodeship is often several different worlds. Pomerania is both Hanseatic Gdańsk and Kashubian lakes, Słowiński dunes, and Kociewie. Lesser Poland is the Tatras, Kraków, Podhale, the Low Beskids, and Ojców National Park. It is worth planning trips with these differences in mind.
From the Baltic to the Bieszczady
Our guide leads through all 16 voivodeships, showing what is worth seeing in each. From coastal Pomerania and West Pomerania, through Greater Poland and Kuyavia, to eastern Podlasie and the Lublin Region, and further south — through Silesia, Lesser Poland, and Subcarpathia.
Each region has its own character: Pomerania is the Baltic and Hanseatic cities, Warmia-Masuria is a thousand lakes, Podlasie is primeval forests and multiculturalism, Lesser Poland is the Tatras and Kraków, Lower Silesia is castles and the Sudetes. Together they form a mosaic worth discovering slowly.
How to Explore Poland Region by Region?
The rule is one: don't try to see everything in one trip. Choose one region and give it a whole weekend or week. Instead of moving between voivodeships every two days, stay in one place and truly get to know it.
Many regions have their own themed trails — culinary, craft, wooden architecture, industrial. It is worth choosing one theme and building a journey around it. This way, Poland becomes not a collection of points on a map but a coherent story.
