CYCLING ROUTES

By bike across
all of Poland.

Green Velo, Velo Dunajec, Velo Baltica and other multi-day cycling routes. From 200 km to 2000 km — something for every pace.

Poland on Two Wheels

Poland has over 20,000 km of marked cycling routes, a few of which are of European class. Routes of the Velo type are not just roads — they are a complete tourism product: signage, infrastructure, accommodation, bike workshops.

Slow travel by bike is a completely different experience from touring by car. A pace of 15–20 km/h lets you notice things that escape from a car window: roadside shrines, the scent of meadows, conversations with locals.

Where to Start?

For a first multi-day trip — Velo Dunajec (240 km, 3–4 days). The route runs through the Pieniny, Beskid Sądecki, and Podhale, along one of the most beautiful rivers in Poland.

For the ambitious — Green Velo (over 2,000 km through 5 voivodeships). It can be ridden in full in 10–14 days, or divided into stages of 200–300 km.

For sea lovers — Velo Baltica, the coastal route through Świnoujście, Kołobrzeg, Darłowo, Łeba to Hel. Perfect for a family holiday.

How to Plan?

Don't plan too rigidly. Assume 50–60 km per day (with luggage), not 100. Book accommodation in advance, but leave a buffer day in case of fatigue or rain.

Bikes can be rented in most starting cities. Many routes have official services with a list of cyclist-friendly accommodation, workshops, and repair stations.
